Pakistan Army fires unprovoked on LoC in five districts of J&K, Indian Army retaliate

Jammu, May 5 (UNI) Pakistan Army yet again violated the ceasefire by resorting to unprovoked firing along the Line of Control in five districts of Jammu and Kashmir.

Defence spokesman on Monday said during the night of May 4-5, Pakistan Army posts resorted to unprovoked small arms fire across the LoC in areas opposite Kupwara, Baramulla districts of Kashmir and Poonch, Rajouri, Mendhar (Poonch) Naushera (Rajouri), Sunderbani (Rajouri) and Akhnoor (Jammu) areas of Jammu Division.

"Indian Army responded promptly and proportionately," he said.

Border tension escalated between India and Pakistan in the aftermath of April 22 Pahalgam terror attack.
