Blossomed almond trees at Badamwari source of attraction for tourists in Srinagar

Srinagar, Mar 18 (UNI) With the arrival of spring in Kashmir, Srinagar’s historic Badamwari—the sprawling almond garden in the old city—has come to life , drawing a surge of tourists.

As the first major attraction to awaken after the valley’s harsh winter, Badamwari has long been a herald of spring’s arrival.

With the recent spell of sunny and pleasant weather, it has become a favorite spot for visitors, offering a refreshing contrast to the snow-clad destinations of Kashmir.

Situated on the foothills of Koh-e-Maran, the 300 kanals garden was dotted with trees, flowers, and cascades providing a soothing experience to the visitors.

The early bloom of flowers on Almond trees in the sprawling historic Badamwari garden in Shahr-e-Khaas has become a source of attraction for nature lovers and tourists alike.

On Tuesday, the tourists were seen thronging the garden and clicking selfies in the backdrop of blossomed Almond trees in the historic garden.

Sunita, a tourist from Delhi said that the plan to visit Badamwari happened at the last moment after this morning as our back flight was in the afternoon.

“After seeing a lot of snow over the various tourist destinations of the Kashmir valley, Badamwari was a refreshing moment for us with pink flowers on the Almost trees representing a mesmerizing view of nature”, she said.

“We are just imagining when the trees in the garden will fully adorn the flowers, would be amazing and we regret missing that moment of life”, she added.

Another tourist said that “I have seen such a pleasant atmosphere after about a week with flowers all over is a lifetime experience”.

“One should visit here once in two years to cherish the pure beauty and atmosphere of nature,” he said
