Kanpur, Aprl 24 (UNI) Last rites of Shubham Dwivedi of Kanpur, who died in the terror attack in Pahalgam of Jammu and Kashmir, were performed with full state honours in the presence of thousands of people at Deori Ghat on Thursday.
Before this, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also gave a final farewell to the son of Kanpur. To console the family, the CM reached Shubham's residence in Hathipur (Kanpur) in the morning and there he paid tribute to Shubham by bowing to his mortal remains.
During this, he talked to Shubham's father and heard the entire story from his wife.
Shubham's body reached Lucknow on Wednesday night and then Kanpur late at night. Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak along with the senior officials received the body at Chaudhary Charan Singh Airport.
On the directives of Yogi, arrangements were made to perform Shubham's last rites with state honours. The CM also reached out to the family members and spoke with Shubham's father and then his wife and heard the whole story.
Assembly Speaker Satish Mahana, BJP state president Bhupendra Chaudhary, Cabinet minister Rakesh Sachan, MP Ramesh Awasthi, Minister Pratibha Shukla, MLAs and officials were present with the CM.
Earlier, on Wednesday Yogi Adityanath personally conveyed his sympathies in a phone call to the grieving father, Sanjay Dwivedi. He paid tribute to Shubham Dwivedi, condemning the terrorist attack and expressing profound sorrow over the tragic loss.
In a post shared on his official X account, he wrote, "The tragic demise of Shubham Dwivedi from Kanpur district in the cowardly terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, is deeply saddening."
During his conversation with Sanjay Dwivedi, Yogi assured the grieving father that the UP government stands firmly with the family during this difficult time and pledged all possible assistance.
