Lucknow, Mar 10 (UNI) In an important decision the Uttar Pradesh government on Monday decided to phase out Rs 10,000 to Rs 25,000 physical stamp papers, replacing them with e-stamps to enhance transparency and prevent irregularities.
A proposal in this regard was passed during the meeting of the state Cabinet which was chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath held at Lok Bhawan.
As per the decision taken by the Cabinet, stamp papers worth over Rs 5,630 crore will be auctioned, with old stamps valid only until March 31. The Yogi government approved 19 important proposals in the cabinet meeting.
