Srinagar, Mar 14 (UNI) Security forces deployed in Kashmir celebrated Holi, the festival of colors, with great enthusiasm and joy on Friday.
Border Security Force (BSF) personnel marked the occasion in the forward areas on the snow-covered Line of Control (LoC), embracing the festive spirit despite harsh weather conditions.
The border guards extended their greetings to the people by inscribing ‘Happy Holi’ in vibrant colours on the snow, symbolizing unity and celebration.
The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel celebrated the Holi festival at Ashajipora camp in south Kashmir's Anantnag district with great enthusiasm.
The troops hugged each other, danced in joy and sprinkle colours on each other amid inclement weather.
Talking to the media, CRPF personnel said, "Despite away from home the joyous occasion of the festival of colours is being celebrated with great fun and traditional enthusiasm with companions of the force”.
The personnel of CRPF also celebrated Holi with the Kashmiri Pandits at Vesu transit camp. They exchanged pleasantries and threw colours on each other with humour and joy on the occasion.
Reports of similar functions held by the Army’s Chinar Corps headquarters at BB Cantonment in Srinagar, Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) at Batmaloo, CRPF camp Kulgam and STC BSF Humhama and other force camps of the valley.
