Students undertake educational tour to Dudhwa, Katarniaghat

Lucknow, May 4 (UNI) In an effort to promote eco-tourism and raise awareness among the youth, the Uttar Pradesh Eco Tourism Development Board organised a one-day educational tour for girl students from Lucknow to Dudhwa Tiger Reserve and Katarniaghat Wildlife Sanctuary, official sources said here on Sunday.
Sources said that the journey was made aboard the state-of-the-art Vistadome train, offering a unique and immersive travel experience. "The students, all members of the Youth Tourism Club from MD Shukla Inter College, started their journey from Bichhia station and concluded at Mailani. Along the way, the group experienced the beauty of nature, observed forest biodiversity and learned about the importance of wildlife conservation," they said.
Sources said that during the tour, the students were introduced to the rich ecosystems of Dudhwa and Katarniaghat, including sightings and insights about tigers, swamp deer, rhinoceroses and rare bird species. "The tranquility and natural beauty of the forest left a lasting impression on them," they said.
Sources said that prominent social media influencers from across the country were also invited for the familiarisation (FAM) trip organized by the Eco Tourism Development Board. "These influencers shared their experiences and pledged to showcase UP's natural treasures to global audiences through digital platforms," they said.
Sources said that Director Tourism Prakhar Mishra, Senior Advisor to the Board Rajeev Garg and senior officials from the Forest and Tourism Departments were present during the tour. "They briefed the students on eco-tourism opportunities in the state and potential career paths in the field," they said.
UP's Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh said that through the Youth Tourism Club, the state is not only connecting the new generation with its tourist destinations but also nurturing a sense of responsibility towards nature and cultural heritage. He emphasised that this campaign would firmly place UP on the national map as a leading destination for eco-tourism.
