Telangana govt extends support to citizens stranded in border areas

Hyderabad, May 10 (UNI) In view of the prevailing situation in the border regions, the Telangana Government has taken swift and comprehensive measures to assist citizens from the state who are currently stranded or returning from affected areas.
Acting under the direction of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, Telangana Bhawan in New Delhi has been designated as the nodal centre for coordination and relief operations.
A dedicated 24x7 Control Room has been set up at Telangana Bhawan and is fully operational to receive distress calls and coordinate rescue and support efforts. So far, around 30 distress calls have been received and addressed.
Free food and lodging facilities have been arranged for all Telangana citizens returning from bordering states. Wherever necessary, additional accommodations are also being organized outside the Bhawan to ensure no one is left unattended.
A medical camp has been established on the premises to provide immediate health check-ups and necessary care.
Transportation assistance is being extended to help individuals reach airports and railway stations for their safe onward journey. Close coordination is being maintained with district administrations in the affected border areas from where distress calls are being received.
Support is being provided to facilitate the movement of Telangana residents to safer zones in collaboration with local authorities. Telangana Bhawan is also maintaining constant communication with the Government of India to stay updated on the ground situation and adhere to safety protocols.
As of now, eight individuals from Jammu & Kashmir have safely reached Telangana Bhawan and are being provided with all necessary care. Arrangements are underway to facilitate their safe return to their respective hometowns in Telangana.
The Resident Commissioner has been personally monitoring and reviewing the relief efforts, including a midnight inspection to ensure complete preparedness for receiving and supporting stranded citizens.
The Government of Telangana remains steadfast in its commitment to the safety and well-being of its people and will continue to closely monitor the situation to ensure timely and effective assistance, an official statement said on Saturday.
