He accused the ruling party of financial mismanagement and demanded that Chief Minister MK Stalin address the issue in the Assembly.
"The TASMAC issue is of grave concern. We believe the Chief Minister should answer for it in the Assembly, even during the budget session. This scandal is bigger than the Chhattisgarh case or even the Delhi liquor scam. That is why we walked out of the Assembly, just like other political parties, including the AIADMK, which also staged a walkout for various reasons." />

TASMAC scam in bigger than Delhi liquor scam, alleges Annamalai

Bengaluru, Mar 14 (UNI) Tamil Nadu BJP Chief K Annamalai on Friday launched a scathing attack on the DMK government, alleging that corruption in the state-run liquor corporation, TASMAC, was "bigger than the Delhi liquor scam."
That is why we walked out of the Assembly, just like other political parties, including the AIADMK, which also staged a walkout for various reasons.
This only highlights how anti-democratic the DMK government has become," the TN BJP President told reporters here.
Annamalai was in the city to address a gathering at Jain University on the much-debated topic of 'One Nation, One Election', which has sparked intense discussions nationwide.
Sharpening his attack on the DMK, he accused the government of diverting attention from real issues. "While the DMK government manufactured an artificial controversy over the rupee symbol, the real issue is the massive scam in TASMAC. The Enforcement Directorate's (ED) initial report has exposed over ₹1,000 crore in kickbacks linked to distillery and bottling companies," he said.
Annamalai also dismissed the Tamil Nadu budget as an "eyewash exercise with no productive measures." Raising concerns over the state’s fiscal health, he stated, "The state’s debt has already touched ₹9.5 lakh crore and is set to cross ₹10 lakh crore soon. Tamil Nadu now leads the country in debt burden, with no clear roadmap for financial recovery."
Meanwhile, the AIADMK also staged a walkout over multiple issues, which the TN BJP Chief said was a clear indication of growing dissatisfaction with the DMK regime.
