Telangana Deputy CM hails BC Reservation Bill, calls for nationwide caste census

Hyderabad, Mar 17 (UNI) Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka on Monday praised the state government’s decision to implement 42 per cent reservation for Backward Classes (BCs) in education, employment, and political sectors, calling it a significant step toward social justice.
During the discussion on the BC Reservation Bill in the Telangana Assembly, Vikramarka expressed gratitude to all members who unanimously supported the resolution. He emphasised that the Congress government had worked tirelessly for nearly a year to introduce the bill.
He recalled that as part of former Congress chief Rahul Gandhi's election promise, the grand old party pledged to conduct a caste census in Telangana to ensure resources and opportunities were allocated proportionally to the population.
