Youth stabbed to death by his friend in Palakkad

Palakkad, Mar 14 (UNI) A 24-year-old youth was stabbed to death by his friend, following a financial dispute over Rs 5,000 at Chozhiyangad near Vadakkencherry grama panchayat in this district.
According to Vadakkenchery police, the deceased was identified as Manu (24) of Anjumoorthy Mangalam.
Police arrested his friend Vishnu (23) a lorry driver of Chozhiyangad in this connection.
The incident took place around 2330 hours on Thursday night. Both of them are friends and take alcohol frequently.
Manu has borrowed Rs 5000 from Vishnu and he failed to return it in the stipulated time.
Manu called Vishnu to collect the borrowed money from him and Vishnu reached the spot and an altercation was erupted. Vishnu stabbed Manu's neck with a knife. Locals rushed to the spot and nabbed Vishnu and handed him to the police. They shifted Manu to a nearby hospital but doctors declared him brought dead.
