Chennai, Mar 4 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Health and Family Welfare Minister Ma.Subramanian
met Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare J.P.Nadda in New Delhi and submitted
a Memorandum on important issues relating to the State Health Department on Tuesday.
The memorandum contained nine demands pertaining to the State Health department,
an official release here said.
Among the demands highlighted in the memorandum were admission Policy in Medicine
and Opposition to National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), request for a new AIIMS
Hospital in Coimbatore; establishment of new Government Medical Colleges in six districts,
request for sanction of 24 Urban, 26 Rural Primary Health Centres and 500 Health
Sub Centres in Tamil Nadu; objection to the National Medical Commission, National Exit
Test Regulations, 2023; objection to the Common Counselling proposed by National Medical
Commission Graduate Medical Education Regulations, 2023; Objection to the National
Medical Commission, “Establishment of New Medical Institutions, starting of new Medical
courses, increase of seats for existing courses and Assessment and Rating Regulations,
2023; strengthening cancer care services in Tamil Nadu under the Tertiary Care initiative
scheme at a total cost of Rs.447.94 crore and strengthening Neurosurgery departments
and establishment of Simulation and Skill Lab in 22 Tertiary Care Institutions at a total
cost of Rs. 603.45 crore.
In the meeting Tamil Nadu Health and Family Welfare Principal Secretary Dr.P.Senthilkumar,
Tamil Nadu House Resident Commissioner Ashish Kumar, National Health Mission Director
(Tamil Nadu) Dr.Arun Thamburaj were also present.
