International media training program concludes at Dr MCR HRD Institute

Hyderabad, Mar 15 (UNI) The two-week ITEC training program for 26 journalists and media professionals from Guyana, Tanzania, Suriname, Nepal, and Sri Lanka concluded on Saturday at Dr MCR HRD Institute of Telangana.
The program was sponsored by the ITEC Division of the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India.
Dr Shashank Goel, Director General of Dr MCR HRD Institute and EO Special Chief Secretary to the Government of Telangana, lauded media professionals as vital watchdogs and bridges between governments and citizens.
He emphasised that technology, especially artificial intelligence, has revolutionised media, enhancing news production, data-driven reporting, and content creation.
Dr Goel urged media professionals to adopt technology while maintaining ethical standards to preserve journalism's core values of truth, fairness, and impartiality. He encouraged continuous learning and professional development to stay relevant in the evolving media landscape.
“I am confident that the knowledge and skills gained from this program will empower you to positively impact your respective countries,” Dr. Goel added, emphasising the dual role of media professionals in informing and inspiring audiences.
He expressed hope that the program would strengthen bilateral ties between India and the participating nations.
Dr Madhavi Ravulapati, Course Director and Head of CLP, highlighted the blend of classroom sessions and visits to prominent media houses and cultural sites, which provided participants with a comprehensive understanding of media-related issues.
