Bengaluru, Mar 18 (UNI) Amid speculation surrounding the meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Chief Mohan Bhagwat in Nagpur on March 30, RSS spokesperson Sunil Ambekar on Wednesday termed it a "routine meeting" and dismissed any political significance attached to it.
Replying to a UNI query at a press conference, Ambekar said, "It is a routine meeting. This happens every year. We discuss the functioning of the RSS, review it, and plan to further our programmes. I think it has nothing to do with that (politics), every organisation does its job. I believe it is a very routine meeting."
His remarks come at a time when the BJP is set to announce its new National President, and the absence of explicit praise from the RSS for PM Narendra Modi despite his vocal appreciation of the organisation has raised eyebrows in political circles.
