Bandi Sanjay slams Cong over Kanche Gachibowli land sale, calls for immediate withdrawal

Bandi Sanjay slams Cong over Kanche Gachibowli land sale, calls for immediate withdrawal

Hyderabad, Apr 1 (UNI) Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar has launched a scathing attack on the Congress-led Telangana government over its decision to auction 400 acres of land in Kanche Gachibowli.
Taking to Twitter, the minister accused the state government of acting in contempt of court and engaging in environmentally destructive practices for financial gain.
Bandi Sanjay alleged that the land in question falls within a forest area and, as per a Supreme Court ruling, any land with forest characteristics cannot be altered or sold without prior approval from the central government.
He pointed out that a case regarding this land is still pending in the High Court, and the court has ordered the state government to file a counter-affidavit by April 7 in response to a petition by the NGO Vata Foundation.
The Minister strongly opposed the auction, stating that the state government is disregarding legal proceedings and violating court orders. "Even knowing this, the state government is committing contempt of court in the name of land acquisition. It is destroying the environment by cutting down trees while falsely claiming to plant saplings," he alleged.
Taking a direct jab at the Congress leadership, Bandi Sanjay accused Chief Minister Revanth Reddy of contradicting his past stance. "Have you forgotten that Revanth Reddy had previously opposed the arbitrary sale of government lands that were not in the public interest? Now, this sale is the peak of Congress' opportunistic politics," he remarked.
He further claimed that the Congress government is behaving even more irresponsibly than the previous BRS regime, calling the auction a "wicked" move aimed at generating thousands of crores at the cost of the environment and public interest.
The minister demanded an immediate withdrawal of the decision to sell the Gachibowli land, warning that if the government fails to act, the people will step in to "teach a suitable lesson."
With tensions mounting over the controversial auction, the issue is expected to fuel further political and legal battles in the coming days.
