Hyderabad, Mar 12 (UNI) BRS Working President K T Rama Rao (KTR) strongly criticised Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Varma's speech, likening it to a Congress press meeting held at Gandhi Bhavan.
Speaking to reporters at the Assembly media point following the Governor's address, KTR expressed disappointment, stating that the speech failed to address key concerns like the government's "420 promises" and the six guarantees.
"We expected the Governor's speech to offer relief or reassurance amid the state's ongoing agricultural crisis," KTR remarked, accusing the Congress government of misleading the Governor by claiming successful loan waivers.
He alleged that farmers are facing severe hardship, with drought conditions worsening and crops drying up. KTR blamed Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy for the irrigation crisis, particularly citing negligence in repairing the Medigadda project, which he claimed has led to extensive crop damage in the Godavari basin.
KTR also accused the Congress government of failing to support farmers adequately, criticising the absence of Rythu Bandhu benefits and claiming that farmer suicides have increased. He urged the government to take immediate action to address the crisis and support the farming community.
