KTR criticises CM Reddy over budget and governance

KTR criticises CM Reddy over budget and governance

Hyderabad, Mar 17 (UNI) BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) strongly criticised Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, accusing him of failing in governance and causing economic decline in the state.

Speaking to the media at the Assembly premises on Monday, KTR condemned the government's budget cuts and criticised the administration's handling of various issues.

KTR highlighted that CM Revanth Reddy admitted to a revenue decrease of Rs 70,000 crore, calling it "Telangana Falling" rather than "Telangana Rising." He questioned how revenue could drop despite claims of growth in agriculture, investments, and industries.

"If a state like gold was handed over, Revanth has destroyed it by calling it cancer," KTR remarked, adding that the Chief Minister failed in his first year in office.

KTR accused the government of lacking a strategy to improve revenue and criticised Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka for boasting about a so-called 'realistic budget.' He blamed CM Revanth Reddy's policies for weakening the rural economy and the agricultural sector.

On Revanth Reddy's frequent visits to Delhi, KTR questioned the outcomes. "What funds did Revanth Reddy bring to Telangana despite claiming good relations with the Centre?" he asked.

KTR also alleged that the Revanth-led administration focused on negative politics, illegal restrictions, and belittling Telangana rather than governance.

Regarding the Chief Minister's remarks on democracy and family values, KTR criticised Revanth for previously targeting BRS leaders' families. He accused the CM of hypocrisy, saying, "Today Revanth speaks about his family, but he forgot ours when he insulted us."

KTR further criticised the government's focus on beauty pageants amid financial struggles, questioning the allocation of Rs 250 crore for such events while essential promises remain unfulfilled.

"Revanth cancelled the Formula E contract, causing a loss of Rs 46 crore," KTR claimed, vowing to investigate the matter if BRS returns to power.

Drawing a controversial comparison, KTR accused Revanth of behaving like "Abhinava Godse," alleging that his actions resemble those of those who opposed Telangana's progress.
