Bandi Sanjay leads swift evacuation of 23 Telugu students stranded in Kashmir war zone

Hyderabad, May 10 (UNI) On the initiative of Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar, the Jammu and Kashmir administration has taken prompt action to evacuate 23 Telugu students who were stranded in the conflict-ridden region of Jammu and Kashmir.

The students, hailing from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, were studying at the Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (SKUAST) and had reached out in desperation as violence escalated in the region.

For the past few days, tensions have risen sharply in Kashmir, with Pakistan launching drone and missile attacks targeting civilian homes, government buildings, and army camps.

The situation on the ground has become increasingly volatile, plunging residents and students into a state of constant fear. The Telugu students found themselves trapped, unable to leave due to the closure of airports in the region.

Amid this uncertainty, they sent a distress letter to Union Minister Bandi Sanjay, pleading for help. “We are stuck in a war zone… Please help us… Move us from Kashmir to a safe place,” the students wrote, expressing their alarm over the deteriorating security conditions.

Responding swiftly, Bandi Sanjay personally contacted the students to understand their situation. He then immediately reached out to the District Collector and the SKUAST University Dean, urging them to ensure the students’ safe relocation. Acting on the Minister’s instructions, the Jammu and Kashmir administration made all necessary arrangements to evacuate the students to safer areas.

The students, now out of immediate danger, include individuals from Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and a group from Tamil Nadu who were also studying at the university and faced similar risks. Thanks to the timely intervention and coordinated efforts of Union Minister Bandi Sanjay and local officials, all 23 students have been safely relocated from the war zone, an official statement said on Saturday.
