Hyderabad, Apr 8 (UNI) Under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, the Commercial Taxes Department of Telangana has marked a return to a growth trajectory in revenue mobilisation, following a period of stagnation.
In the financial year 2023-24, revenue collections under all acts marginally rose to Rs 70,721 crores from Rs 70,636 crores in 2022-23. Despite the near-flat growth, the department took decisive steps to arrest the downward trend and laid the foundation for recovery through a series of progressive and reform-orientated measures.
These efforts bore fruit in 2024-25, with revenue collections surging to Rs 75,149 crores—an absolute increase of Rs 4,428 crores, reflecting a commendable growth rate of 7.2 per cent. This resurgence can be attributed to strengthened GST demand generation and recovery mechanisms, enhanced compliance measures, and a sustained crackdown on fake registrations through continuous verification drives.
