Barton stuns top seed Kopriva at Bengaluru Open

Bengaluru, Feb 25 (UNI) Qualifier Hynek Barton stunned top seed Vit Kopriva in the Round of 32 at the DafaNews Bengaluru Open on Tuesday, securing a hard-fought 4-6, 6-4, 6-3 victory at the KSLTA Tennis Stadium.
Barton, hailing from the Czech Republic, recovered from a set down to oust his compatriot in a match that lasted just over two hours on Court 2.
The Bengaluru Open, organised by the Karnataka State Lawn Tennis Association (KSLTA), is an ATP Challenger 125 event with a prize pool of USD 200,000, marking it as India’s premier international tennis tournament. The winner of the hard-court event will earn 125 ATP ranking points.
