Solapur, Apr 20 (UNI) Solapur Police on Sunday arrested a female employee of the city-based hospital in connection with alleged suicide of renowned neurologist Dr Shirish Valsangkar (70) here.

Police said the woman concerned was accused of financial irregularities and threatened Dr Valsangkar many times.

Police investigation is underway on the allegation that he committed suicide after getting fed up with it.

Police arrested the woman based on the complaint filed by Dr Valsangkar's son, neurologist Dr Ashwin

The woman was working at Dr Shirish Valsangkar's SP Institute of Neuroscience Hospital and was allegedly involved in financial irregularities in the hospital. Even after this, Dr Ashwin Valsangkar cooperated with her from time to time. But still, she was threatening Dr Shirish Valsangkar that she would commit suicide if he took action against her, said the complaint.

Dr Valsangkar was fed up with her constant harassment. Due to this, he committed suicide allegedly by shooting himself at his house in Modikhana.

When the police registered the incident as an accidental death and took up the investigation, the incident that a female staff working at his hospital is involved in his suicide came to light.
