Man arrested with Hydroponic Weed at Mumbai international airport

Mumbai, Feb 24 (UNI) A 23-year-old man was arrested by the Customs at the Chatrpatti Shivaji Maharaj International Airport here on Monday for allegedly smuggling Hydroponic Weed worth Rs 73 lakh from Bangkok, officials said.
According to the sources, the officers of the Air Intelligence Unit (AIU) of the Customs Department intercepted a passenger Iqbal Mohamed Ibrahim, a resident of Tamil Nadu, on suspicion that he might be carrying some contraband items. The man had arrived from Bangkok.
Thereafter, the Customs officers opened the handbag of the passenger and noticed that it was filled with various types of chocolates and food items. On further scrutiny, the officers found a plastic packet containing green coloured dry leafy substance in the lower portion of the bag. When confronted, Ibrahim remained mum about the contents of the transparent vacuum sealed packet.
