Chief Election Commissioner interacts with BSP representatives

Mumbai, May 6 (UNI) Chief Election Commissioner Dnyanesh Kumar and Election Commissioners Dr Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Dr Vivek Joshi on Tuesday interacted with the representatives of Bahujan Samaj Party led by its national president Ms Mayawati at the Election House.
An official press release issued by EC stated that the ECI has emphasised on maintaining a consistent and comprehensive dialogue with various stakeholders.
In line with this, the Commission has started direct dialogue with political parties at the national and state levels.
This will be an important opportunity for the national and state-level party presidents to convey their suggestions directly to the Commission through this dialogue.
The Commission has taken this initiative with the aim of strengthening the election process within the existing legal framework with the cooperation of all the parties concerned.
So far, 4,719 all-party meetings have been organised by the Commission, the release added.
