Mah govt takes 11 major decisions in cabinet meet

Mumbai, Apr 29 ( UNI) The Maharashtra government has taken 11 major decisions during the cabinet meeting held here on Tuesday.

These include administrative approval for the revised expenditure of Rs 488.53 crore for the pending works for dam leakage prevention under the Temghar project in Mulshi of Pune district .

It has cleared an amendment in the provision of Rule 27(b) (3) of Maharashtra Begging Prohibition Rules, 1964 under Mumbai Begging Prohibition Act, 1951. Now Rs 40 per day will be give instead of Rs 5 for persons in alms houses. It is the first change after 1964.

Under the umbrella scheme PM-YASASVI, OBC, EBC and DNT, the cabinet decided to implement the revised guidelines issued by the Central Government for the years 2021-22 to 2025-26 under the government of India pre-matric and post-matric scholarship scheme for students in the category.

The cabinet approved the construction of six-lane elevated road and six-lane construction of the existing road on Hadapsar to Yavat State Road.

The cabinet also decided to give its go-ahead for the establishment of Maha InvIT (Infrastructure Investment Trust) under the Public Works Department. It approved the policy for development of shipbuilding, repair facilities and ship recycling facilities in Maharashtra.

The cabinet also decided to clear the Maharashtra Electric Vehicle Policy, 2025. It will also have an aggregator policy for the app-based vehicles.

It decided to implement a special programme for the development of the Gowari community in the Special Backward Category on the lines of the schemes being implemented for the Scheduled Tribes by the Tribal Development Department.

The government also decided to increase the limit of the personal loan interest repayment scheme of the M.R. Other Backward Classes Finance and Development Corporation and the Vasantrao Naik Vimukta Jati and Nomadic Tribes Development Corporation from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 15 lakh.
