Maha: Guv Radhakrishnan pays tribute to Ahilyadevi Holkar on her 300th birth anniversary

Mumbai, Mar 8 (UNI) Describing Maharani Ahilyadevi as an exemplary ruler and an able administrator who served the people with fairness, justice and compassion, Maharashtra Governor C P Radhakrishnan on Saturday called for the use of social and digital media to spread awareness about the life and work of Ahilyadevi Holkar among the younger generation.
Speaking at the 300th birth anniversary celebration of Ahilyadevi Holkar at an event held at BSE Convention Centre here by the Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Trishatabdi Jayanti Samaroh Samiti, Mumbai, the Governor said, "Ahilyadevi Holkar redefined governance, establishing justice for the common man. She was not just a queen — she was a reformer and a warrior who redefined leadership with her strength and devotion to her people."
He also recalled how Ahilyadevi Holkar rebuilt numerous temples across India and introduced significant tax reforms, ensuring the well-being of her kingdom’s people.
