Madrid to host G5+ meeting in late March to discuss European Defence, Ukraine: Reports

Spain, Mar 19 (UNI) The meeting of the foreign ministers of the G5+ countries, which includes Spain, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, and will also include representatives of Ukraine, the European Union and the United Kingdom, will be held on March 31 in Madrid, Spanish newspaper El Mundo reported, citing sources.
The group was formed after Donald Trump's victory in the US presidential election and is aimed at developing a common European position in the field of security, the report said on Tuesday, adding that the first G5+ meeting was held via video conference in November 2024, and was followed by summits in Berlin and Paris.
In December, the participants reportedly announced their intention to support the restoration of Ukraine, and in February they discussed security issues with a US representative in Paris.
