Pak encourages joint efforts to combat climate challenges

Islamabad, Apr 17 (UNI) Pakistan's Minister for Climate Change and Environmental Coordination Musadik Masood Malik said that there are efforts afoot to encourage collaboration between the public and private sectors to combat the growing threats of climate change in the South Asian country.
"Pakistan stands at the frontline of the climate crisis. Our future depends not only on strong policy and governance, but also on how decisively our corporate sector steps up to the challenge," the minister said while addressing an event on climate change on Wednesday.
Climate resilience and sustainability are not optional anymore as they are essential for economic stability, public health and national security, he said, while underlining the importance of strategic and long-term planning in addressing the country's escalating environmental and climate-related challenges.
