Patna, Mar 20 (UNI) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said that the state has lots of expectations from the 16th finance commission as its Chairman Arvind Pangariya was fully aware of the socio-economic scenario of the state.
While attending the meeting with the 16th Finance Commission here on Thursday Kumar said that Panagariya and other members of the commission with their expertise and experience would certainly fulfill the expectations of the people of the state. He said Panagariya, being the Chancellor of the Nalanda University Rajgir of Bihar was fully aware of the socio-economic scenario of the state.
Extending his gratitude towards the union government for earmarking special economic assistance to Bihar for roads, industries, health, tourism, and flood control after coming to power for the third time in 2024 Kumar said that the centre while presenting its budget in 2025 announced for establishing the Makhana board in Bihar, development of new Airports in the state, financial assistance to the Western Kosi Canal project and expansion of IIT Patna.
The Chief Minister said that the state government has prepared a memorandum keeping in mind the requirements of the state which would be handed over to the commission and expressed his confidence that the commission would seriously consider all of the points mentioned in the memorandum.
The Chief Minister also outlined the achievement of his government in various sectors after coming to power in Bihar on November 24, 2005.
