Nitish to be held guilty if Waqf Board Amendment Bill gets through in Parliament : Prashant

Patna, Apr 02 (UNI) Founder of "Jan Suraaj" Prashant Kishor on Tuesday said Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar would be held guilty if Waqf Board Amendment Bill was passed in Parliament.

Kishor said that Chief Minister Kumar had assured Muslims so many times to protect their rights. In 2015 Bihar assembly elections, Muslims had played vital role in making Nitish Kumar Chief Minister, he recalled.

" Kumar is in strong political position in Lok Sabha as his party JD(U) has 12 members and their support is vital for passage of any bill, as well as , even survival of Narendra Modi government", Jan Suraaj leader said adding even if in such a strong position , Kumar did not take an unequivocal stand in stalling the bill in Parliament, it would be his betrayal to Muslims. Waqf Board Amendment Bill was totally against interests of Muslims as such Bill was not required to be brought in Parliament, without their consent, he added.

" Our fore fathers had given right to minorities in constitution and it should be protected at all cost", Kishor said adding that an influential leader like Nitish Kumar was betraying the Muslims when his support was much needed to them. How could he claim himself to be follower of Mahatma Gandhi and Ram Manohar Lohia if he did not take concrete stand on the issue despite being in a position to do so, he noted.
