Meghalaya’s Ryndia – eri silk textile accorded GI tag

Shillong, Apr 2 (UNI) Meghalaya’s Ryndia – eri silk textile – has received a Geographical Indication (GI) tag from the GI Authority.
The announcement was made by the Geographical Indications (GI) Authority, under the Government of India, and has been officially registered on its website.
“This is a great milestone for handloom weavers of the state who continue to make commendable efforts to preserve our vibrant indigenous handloom, weaving our story, heritage, and legacy through the years,” Chief Minister Conrad Sangma posted on his micro-blogging site X.
