No India-Pak DGMO talks scheduled today: Indian Army

New Delhi, May 18 (UNI) Clarifying that no talks are scheduled with Pakistan's Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) today, the Indian Army said there is "no expiry date" to the ceasefire announced by the two sides on May 12.

"Some media houses are reporting that the ceasefire between India and Pakistan is ending today," the Indian Army said.

"In addition, queries are also being received if DGMO-level talk is scheduled today? The response is -- No DGMO talks are scheduled today," it said.

The Indian Army added, "As far as continuation of break in hostilities, as decided in DGMOs' interaction of May 12, is concerned, there is no expiry date to it.”

Notably, on May 12, India and Pakistan agreed to take steps towards the immediate reduction of troops on the borders and forward areas and desist from firing even a single shot.

Both armies also decided they would not initiate any aggressive and inimical action against each other.

The DGMO-level talks were held on May 10 at Pakistan's request, and both sides agreed to stop all firing on land, air and sea. Both the DGMOs also decided to talk again on May 12,

Following the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam on April 22, India on May 7 launched Operation Sindoor and targeted nine terror infrastructures in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

More than 100 terrorists, including top commanders of JeM and LeT terror groups, were killed in the operation. UNI RBE SSP
