Odisha: 3,273 schools achieve 100pc result, No school reports zero pass rate in HSc Exam

Bhubaneswar, May 2 (UNI) No school in Odisha recorded a zero pass rate in this year’s High School Certificate (HSC) examination, while 3,273 schools achieved a 100 per cent pass rate.
The exams were conducted by the Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha, and the results were announced on Friday.
School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond, while releasing the results, stated that once again, girl students have outperformed boys.
This year, 5,02,417 regular students appeared for the matriculation examination, of which 4,84,863 passed, registering an overall pass rate of 94.93 per cent. The pass rate among boys is 94 per cent, while girls have achieved a higher rate of 96 per cent.
According to the minister, 1,154 government-aided high schools and 317 unaided schools recorded a 100 per cent pass rate.
The minister further informed that 1,812 students secured an A1 grade, 12,200 in A2, 38,831 in B1, 84,971 in B2, 1,33,882 in C, 1,46,154 in D, and 67,013 in E grade.
Of the 2,917 students who appeared for the Madhyamik examination, 2,868 passed, yielding a pass rate of 85.79 per cent.
Additionally, 5,591 students appeared in the State Open School Certificate Examination (SOSC), out of which 4,181 (74.78 per cent) passed.
Gajapati district recorded the highest pass rate at 99.35 per cent, while Koraput had the lowest at 92.83 per cent.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi congratulated all students who passed the HSC examination conducted by the Odisha Secondary Education Council. He also extended his congratulations to students who cleared the Madhyamik and SOSC examinations.
The Chief Minister encouraged students who did not achieve the desired results not to be discouraged and to continue working hard with determination and self-confidence. He wished all students a bright and successful future.
Higher Education Minister Shri Suryavanshi Suraj also congratulated all students who passed the matriculation exam and wished them continued success.
In his message, Suraj said that the matriculation examination is considered the first step in a student’s career. He emphasised that hard work and perseverance are key to success and expressed hope that students will continue striving for excellence in their educational journey and build a bright future for themselves.
