Puri (Odisha), Mar 15 (UNI) BJP MP and Veteran actress Hema Malini visited the Sri Jagannath Temple on Saturday, offered prayers, and later played Holi.
Accompanied by BJP Puri MP Sambit Patra, she toured the Jagannath Temple and sought the blessings of Lord Jagannath.
Expressing her joy in celebrating Holi at Jagannath Dham, Hema Malini said she usually plays Holi every year in Mathura and offers prayers at the Banke Bihari Temple.
However, this time, she shared her excitement about celebrating Holi in both Mathura on Friday and Puri on Saturday.
The BJP MP thanked the Odisha government for making arrangements for her visit to the Sri Jagannath Temple and said she felt blessed to celebrate Holi in the pilgrim town of Puri while having the opportunity to offer prayers to the presiding deities of the temple.
Hema Malini urged people to celebrate Holi with both colours and flowers in the spirit of devotion.
\\\\She also participated in traditional festivities, including Phul Bali and Phagua dance, and encouraged people to celebrate Holi with flowers.
On Friday, the veteran actress performed at the Vrindavan Mahotsav in Bhubaneswar, showcasing her mastery in Odissi and Kathak dance.
She also visited the Vrindaban Gurukul of Pandit Hari Prasad Chaurasia on the eve of Holi.
The Holi festival, Hema Malini said, is very dear to Lord Krishna, who used to play Holi with Goddess Radha and her companions.
