Bhubaneswar, May 11 (UNI) Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Sunday appealed to the people of the state, especially the youth, to join the Civil Defence Organisation as volunteers with a spirit of nationalism.
"It is our collective duty to protect the lives of our fellow citizens," Majhi said, emphasising that service and security are the highest responsibilities of every individual.
He called upon the public, particularly the youth—who represent the hope, strength, and trust of the nation—to participate in the Civil Defence Organisation as committed volunteers.
The Chief Minister stated that interested individuals can apply through the District Collector’s office, as the District Collector serves as the Controller of Civil Defence at the district level.
He added that volunteers would receive training and, if needed, be mobilised to serve the public with dedication and national pride.
Majhi noted that the Civil Defence Organisation is currently active in 12 locations across the state and instructed officials to establish new units where required.
Expressing optimism, the Chief Minister said he hopes many young people will come forward to serve the state and nation through Civil Defence.
