Odisha CS chairs preparatory meeting for smooth conduct of Puri Rath Yatra

Bhubaneswar, Apr 18 (UNI) Odisha Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja on Friday directed the police administration and other concerned departments to ensure flawless preparations for the upcoming Puri Rath Yatra.
Ahuja, who chaired a preparatory meeting to ensure the peaceful conduct of the world-famous Rath Yatra in Puri, held detailed discussions on several key aspects.
These included the installation of CCTV cameras at various locations for traffic management, deployment of an adequate number of police personnel for crowd control, and the establishment of an Integrated Command and Control Center to coordinate services across departments for better crowd and event management.
Director General of Police Y.B. Khurania, Shri Mandir Chief Administrator Dr. Arvind Kumar Padhi, secretaries from various state departments, senior administrative officials, and senior police officers attended the meeting.
The meeting also addressed parking arrangements for vehicles, preparation and construction of the Rath (chariots), facilities for the Rath Yatra, arrangements on the Badadanda (Grand Road), and special provisions for distinguished guests.
This year, the annual Car Festival of Lord Jagannath and his siblings will begin on June 27.
