Op Sindoor : India compelled to attack, sends clear msge against terrorism, says TN Guv

Chennai, May 10 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Governor R. N. Ravi held an All Faith Meeting
expressing solidarity to Indian Armed Forces and said India was compelled to attack
to send a clear message that terrorism will not go unpunished after Pakistan failed
to act in the aftermath of Pahalgam terror attacks.
While a ceasefire has been agreed upon, the underlying threat persists as Pakistan
continues to destabilize not only India but the entire region, the Governor said and
called upon the nation to remain vigilant and united in safeguarding its sovereignty.
Speaking at the meeting held at Raj Bhavan on Saturday evening in which
representatives from various faiths participated, Mr Ravi condemned the
cowardly terror attack at Pahalgam in which 26 innocent tourists were killed
and reiterated Pakistan's continuing role in sponsoring terrorism.
At the meeting, which was attended by Tamil Nadu Minister for Finance and
Environment and Climate Change Thangam Thennarasu, dignitaries from
various walks of life and Armed Forces Veterans also participated, Mr Ravi
said despite the identification of the perpetrators as members of Pakistan-
backed terror groups, Pakistan failed to take any action for over two weeks.
As a result, India was compelled to retaliate, destroying nine terror camps
and sending a clear message: terrorism will not go unpunished, he said.
Stating that this attack is not an isolated incident, he said Pakistan has
repeatedly targeted India, from the 26/11 attacks to the Parliament attack
and many others.
"India’s swift and strong response reflects the nation’s resilience and
determination in the face of terror", Mr Ravi said.
In the aftermath, Pakistan has resorted to spreading disinformation, falsely
accusing India of targeting minorities in a deliberate effort to divide the
country.
The Governor asserted that India’s strength lies in its unity in diversity - a
strength that no propaganda can break.
The Governor also commended Chief Minister M.K. Stalin for his initiative
in organizing a unity rally, showcasing Tamil Nadu’s unwavering solidarity
with the Indian Armed Forces and the nation.
Affirming that India’s diversity is the country’s greatest strength, Mr Ravi
said in times of peace or crisis, India stands united, resolute, and unwavering.
"Together, the nation will protect its integrity and continue to thrive", he said.
Mr Thangam Thennarasu lauded the unwavering unity shown by the people
of India in supporting the armed forces.
He emphasized that despite linguistic and cultural diversity, the nation stands
resolutely united in safeguarding its sovereignty.
The Minister also praised the Governor’s initiative in organizing the All Faith
Meeting, which brought together leaders from various religious backgrounds
to express solidarity with India’s military.
Father Franco, Bishop, Arch, commended the Governor for promptly organizing
this meeting, underscoring the importance of interfaith dialogue, peace, and
human rights.
The Church reaffirmed its commitment to peace and unity, emphasizing that
India’s strength lies in its collective harmony.
Nawab of Arcot Prince Mohammed Ali expressed admiration for the Prime
Minister’s composed leadership, highlighting his handling of the situation
with wisdom and bravery.
He also commended the Governor’s efforts to foster interfaith unity, quoting
the Quran "To harm one innocent is to harm all of humanity."
The Nawab called for unity, reinforcing that despite differences, India stands
together with its military and leadership.
Swami Raghunayaka Nanda of Ramakrishna Math reinforced the message
of unity, emphasizing that the core principle of ‘Vayam Raksha Mah’ (We
Protect Ourselves) and ‘Ahimsa’ (non-violence) is central to all religions.
Manjeet Singh, Assistant Commandant General, Home Guards and General
Secretary and Correspondent of Guru Nanak College, stressed the importance
of unity among Indians in times of adversity, highlighting the essence of
brotherhood.
In his speech, Colonel Thiyagarajan made a poignant reference to a story from
Tami epic Puranaanoru, where a woman, having lost her husband in battle,
remarked that her son had bravely left her womb to join the war.
This story, symbolizing the inherent courage of Indians, emphasized the fearless
spirit that drives Indians to make sacrifices for the nation’s defense against all
challenges.
