Itanagar, Mar 17 (UNI) Continuing the crackdown on drug trafficking, Naharlagun Police have arrested a lady drug peddler during a raid conducted at Panchayat Colony, Damsite, Naharlagun under Operation Dawn 2.0, SP Mihin Gambo said on Monday.
Acting on credible intelligence, a police team led by Inspector Krishnendu Dev (OC, PS Naharlagun), along with SI Vivek Linggi, Head Constable Kanto Samyor, Constables
W Singpho, Bakin Mitkon, Osinam Pabin, and lady Constable Lobsang Wangmu, conducted the operation. The raid was carried out under the supervision of Naharlagun SP and SDPO Rishi Longdo, in the presence of Town Magistrate Khoda Bath (EAC).
During the search of the residence of alleged accused Enime Kena Mihu (31), a native of Anini, Dibang Valley, the police recovered 25 vials containing suspected heroin weighing 32.9 grams, one plastic container with suspected heroin (30.7 grams), 42 empty vials, a red plastic container, two used syringes, and three empty cigarette packets. The total weight of recovered contraband stands at 63.6 grams (including the weight of containers).
During interrogation, Enime Kena Mihu confessed to procuring the contraband from Assam for personal consumption and peddling. Following the raid, a case was registered at Naharlagun PS under Sections 21(b), 27, and 29 of the NDPS Act, and the accused has been taken into custody, the SP said.
