Pinky Reddy inaugurates FLO Hyderabad Centre of Excellence

Pinky Reddy inaugurates FLO Hyderabad Centre of Excellence

Hyderabad, Mar 18 (UNI) The FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO) Hyderabad Chapter inaugurated its much-anticipated FLO Hyderabad Centre of Excellence (CoE) on Tuesday.

The Centre was formally launched by Pinky Reddy, Past National President of FLO.

This Centre of Excellence is the first of its kind in FLO's 20-chapter network across India and has been a longstanding vision of FLO for the past 15 years.

Located in Banjara Hills, Hyderabad, the 2800 sq. ft. space is designed to equip women with skills, knowledge, and opportunities to excel in their personal and professional journeys. The Past Chairpersons' Council will manage the Centre.

Speaking at the inauguration, Reddy remarked that they had been discussing this initiative for 15 years, and now that dream has become a reality. She highlighted that the CoE is crucial as it fosters expertise, promotes best practices, and drives innovation, ultimately enhancing competitiveness and improving efficiency.

FLO Hyderabad Chairperson Priya Gazdar described the launch as a historic milestone for FLO Hyderabad. She mentioned that for FLO and YFLO members, the Centre will provide leadership enhancement, entrepreneurship development, and financial and digital empowerment. For grassroots women, it will offer job-readiness skilling, vocational training, and financial literacy. The Centre will also serve as FLO Hyderabad's operational backbone.

The Centre houses a training hall that accommodates up to 60 participants, four cubicles for administrative staff, and four cabins for committee meetings. The interiors feature an 'Impact and Achievement Wall' showcasing memorable initiatives like supporting dying weaves such as Gollabhama, Telia Rumal, Narayanpet weaves, and Cheriyal Painting. Notable achievements include impacting 40,000 women, planting over one lakh saplings, and displaying pylons installed by FLO. The 'Meet the Visionaries' wall honors the contributions of FLO's past chairpersons.

A significant highlight is FLO's signature initiative, India's first women-led industrial park, now recognized globally as a role model for women-led development.

Additionally, initiatives for 2024-25 were showcased, including the MSME Schemes Ready Reckoner and three white papers on empowering women farmers through sustainable growth, work opportunities for young urban women in slum areas, and sustaining heritage weaves of Gollabhama, Muthyamgadi, and handloom livelihoods in Siddipet, a statement said.
