Thiruvananthapuram, June 12 (UNI) The news of the Air India aircraft crash in Ahmedabad, Gujarat is heart-wrenching, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said on Thursday.

"It is sad that all but one of the passengers on board the plane, as well as several students of the medical college hostel where the plane crash landed, have lost their lives," the CM said.

"This is really terrifying. The fact that former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani is also among those who lost their lives, is also distressing," he said.

"Its painful to hear that Ranjitha Gopakumar, a native of Pullad at Thiruvalla in Kerala is also among the dead," he said.

"We share the grief of those who lost their loved ones in the crash of Air India aircraft at Ahmedabad," he added.
