New Delhi, Apr 29 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday held detailed discussions in a high level meeting with the Defence Minister, National Security Advisor (NSA), Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) and the Chiefs of the three services.
According to sources, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan, Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi, Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal A P Singh and Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh Tripathi attended the meeting held at the Prime Minister's residence at 7, Lok Kalyan Marg this evening.
This is the third meeting of the Prime Minister with the Defence Minister, since the dastardly terror attack on tourists in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam on April 22, that claimed 26 lives.
In the meeting, the Prime Minister was given detailed information about the current security situation and the preparations of the forces.
This high-level meeting, held ahead of the Union Cabinet's security meeting on Wednesday, is being considered as highly significant.
Earlier, Union Home Secretary also held discussions in a high-level meeting with the Border Security Force, Assam Rifles and other security agencies.
