Patna, Apr 28 (UNI) Jan Suraaj founder Prashant Kishor on Monday appreciated RJD leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav for his promise to keep toddy out of prohibition, saying it is good.
Kishor told media persons that his party "Jan Suraaj" had always been advocating to revoke liquor ban law as its poor implementation had defeated the very purpose of framing such law. In the name of liquor ban law, poor and women were being harassed by police, he alleged.
"We appreciate Tejashwi for his promise to keep toddy out of prohibition, if voted to power in the next Bihar assembly election ", the Jan Suraaj founder said, adding that his party was in favour of completely revoking the liquor ban law.
At least, Tejashwi had moved ahead one step, he remarked. In the name of liquor ban, only its outlets had been closed while home delivery of liquor was being made freely, Kishor pointed out.
"Policemen are engaged in making money by patronising those engaged in liquor trading and peddling", Kishor alleged and said that a nexus had developed between liquor mafias and police.
Poor were being harassed while affluents and influential people were getting home delivery of liquor, he stated.
