Punjab govt cancels IAS, PCS officers' leave

Chandigarh, May 9 (UNI) Amid escalation at the borders, the Punjab government on Friday announced cancellation of leave of IAS/PCS officers.

An official order by personnel secretary said in view of the prevailing situation and preparedness for the emergency system, it has been decided that no officer shall proceed on any kind of leave or leave their station of posting without explicit approval of the chief secretary.

"All the leaves approved stand cancelled," it said.

The May 9 dated order said these instructions come into force immediately. "Meticulous compliance may be ensured failing which suitable action under relevant rules shall be initiated," the communique to all IAS/PCS officers in Punjab added.
