Rajasthan: Young woman injured in firing at bus stand

Bhilwara, May 5 (UNI) A young woman was injured in a firing incident at a bus stand in Rajasthan's Bhilwara district on Monday, police sources said.
The sources said that a youth suddenly fired a pistol at the Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation bus stand in the Subhash Nagar police station area, and the bullet hit Rumana (24) - a resident of Gumanpura in Kota - who was standing near the enquiry window.
People standing nearby caught hold of the youth as panic spread at the area.
Rumana, who sustained serious injuries in the abdomen, was rushed to the district hospital.
The police have arrested the youth, identified as Lokesh Sharma from Jaipur.
During interrogation, Lokesh claimed that he had fired at another woman he knew, but the bullet accidentally hit Rumana. The accused was wearing a wig to conceal his identity.
The police have taken the accused into custody, and further investigation is underway. UNI XC AKT SSP
