Rifleman injured in accidental firing incident in J&K’s Baramulla

Srinagar, July 3 (UNI) A rifleman of the Indian Army sustained a gunshot injury in Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir last night, after his weapon accidentally misfired, officials said.

They said the soldier suffered a gunshot wound to his right foot due to the misfire. The incident occurred during a night ambush laid by Army near Butapatri

The soldier was immediately provided first aid and later evacuated to the Army’s 92 Base hospital for advanced medical care.
His condition is reported to be stable, officials said.

UP makes record excise revenue collection at Rs 14,400 cr in first quarter: Minister

Lucknow, July 3 (UNI) The Uttar Pradesh excise department is elated with its achievement in revenue collection in the first quarter of the current fiscal. UP Minister of State (independent charge) Nitin Aggarwal said here today that the excise department collected Rs 14,400 crore in the first quarter of this fiscal, which is around 98.8% of the target and was Rs 2,445 crore more than the revenue of Rs 11,783.76 collected in the same period in 2024-25.
