Mumbai, Mar 20 (UNI) Extending gains for the fourth consecutive session on Thursday, the BSE Sensex rallied 459 pts at 75,908 in the opening session following gains in IT, technology and utilities stocks amid strong global peers.
Even the US Federal upheld the rate cut decision for the remainder of the year also boosted the market.
The National Stock Exchange (NSE) rose 126.25 pts at 23,033.85.
The Sensex registered an intraday high at 76,013.82 and a low at 75,767.99 pts.
The Nifty registered a day's high at 23,071.70 and a low at 22,459 pts.
The stocks that glittered were IT, technology and utilities stocks.
The mid cap rose by 0.23 and the small cap by 0.35 pc.
In 30 scrips, 22 advanced while 8 declined.
The gainers were Bharti Airtel by 2.20 pc to Rs 1672.65, M&M by 1.97 pc to Rs 2841.15, HCL Technology by 1.67 pc to Rs 3125.30 and Titan by 1.62 pc to Rs 3125.30.
The losers were Bajaj Finance by 1.28 pc to Rs 8625, L&T by 0.57 pc to Rs 3299.90 and Adani Ports by 0.46 pc to Rs 1167.55.
