Mumbai, Mar 20 (UNI) The equity market maintained its supremacy for the fourth straight session
on Thursday, with BSE Sensex spurted 899.01 pts to close at 76,348.06 following gains in Telecommunications, Technology and Oil and Gas stocks.
Federal Reserve decision to keep interest rates steady fuelled optimism across the global market.
The National Stock Exchange (NSE) rose 283.05 pts at 23,190.65.
The day opened on a strong note at 75,917.11, up 468 pts. During the day it remained in green only. It was registered massive gainers of 1007 pts at 76,456.25, days high, before closing at 76,348.06, advancing 899.01 pts from its previous close.
The Nifty registered days high at 23,216.70 and low at 22,973.95 pts.
The stocks were shined were Telecommunications by 1.94 pc followed by Technology by 1.89 pc,
Oil and Gas by 1.56 pc and Energy by 1.42 pc.
The Mid cap rose by 0.61 and Small cap by 0.73 pc.
In 30 scrips, 27 advanced while 3 declined.
The gainers were Bharti Airtel by 4.05 pc to Rs 1703, Titan by 3.47 pc to Rs 3181.95, TCS by 1.68
pc to Rs 3562.80 and M& M by 1.79 pc to Rs 2836.15.
The losers were IndusInd Bank by 1.03 pc to Rs 685.25, Bajaj Finance by 0.57 pc to Rs 8687.15
and Ultrasemco by 0.15 pc to Rs 10,917.80.
In Asian Market Strait Times was up by 0.56 pc, Taiwan Weighted by 1.86 pc and Jakarta Composite by 1.10 pc.
