Separate toilets for women on highways: Maha minister

Mumbai, Mar 28 (UNI) In the fourth women's policy, more priority will be given to providing health and hygiene facilities for women, said Maharashtra Women and Child Development Minister Aditi Tatkare on Friday.
According to this, equipped toilets will be built at every 25 km distance on the highway. The maintenance and management of these toilets will be done by local women's self-help groups (SHGs), she informed through a press release here.
Apart from this, plans will be made to arrange for the sale of products through SHGs on the highway, she said.
The construction of toilets will be done by the Public Works Department, and the management of the public utility centre will be done through SHG established by the Ministry of Home Affairs, the release added.
