Kerala: Two of family killed in road accident in Malappuram

Malappuram, Mar 31 (UNI) Two members of a family were killed after their scooter skidded and fell into a well while descending a steep slope at Kizhumuri, near Kadampuzha, in Marakkara panchayat of the district on Monday.

According to police, the deceased have been identified as K P Hussain (60) and his son Haris Babu (30).

The accident occurred at around 1030 am, when the father-son duo was on their way to a relative's house after attending the Eid prayer. The rider suddenly lost control of the scooter, hit the wall of the well and fell in.

Local residents and fire brigade personnel rushed to the spot, rescued the injured persons and shifted them to a nearby private hospital at Chankuvetti near Kottakkal, but doctors there declared them brought dead.
