Bhubaneswar, Mar 22 (UNI) The Governor of Karnataka, the Chief Minister, the Deputy Chief Minister, Union Ministers, senior ministers from various states, officials, journalists, and other prominent personalities paid tribute on Saturday to former Union Minister Dr. Debendra Pradhan, recalling their memories with him.
These leaders visited the residence of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan to offer their condolences and pay their respects to the departed soul.
Karnataka Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot said he had known the late Dr. Debendra Pradhan for a long time and had met him multiple times when he was a minister in Atalji's government.
He described Dr. Pradhan’s life as inspiring, recalling how, during the tenure of the Jana Sangh—when people were hesitant even to mention its name—he fought tirelessly for the interests of the country.
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh, who also paid tribute to the late Debendra Pradhan, said his
life was like an open book, having served society for a long time both as a doctor and as a public representative.
Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brijesh Pathak said that Dr. Devendra Pradhan dedicated his entire life to strengthening the BJP's organization. His behavior and values serve as an inspiration
for today’s youth.
Odisha Deputy Chief Minister K. V. Singhdeo mentioned that he had the opportunity to work with Dr. Debendra Pradhan for a long time. After becoming a minister in Atalji's government, the late Pradhan made significant contributions to Odisha by improving the national highway infrastructure.
Union Minister of Culture and Tourism Gajendra Singh said that Dr. Devendra Pradhan had a singular focus in his life—serving Odisha.
Union Minister of State for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairying, S. P. Singh Baghel, stated that he had the privilege of working with the late Debendra Pradhan during his tenure as a member of the 12th and 13th Lok Sabha. He described Pradhan as an eloquent speaker, a skilled administrator, and a supportive colleague.
Union Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Jayant Singh Choudhary, described the late Dr. Devendra Pradhan as an efficient and capable leader.
Union Minister of State for Cooperation, Krishna Pal Gurjar, said that the late Dr. Devendra Pradhan dedicated his life to serving the country and society. His contributions to the development of Odisha are immeasurable.
Minister of State for Sports and Youth Affairs, Uttar Pradesh, Girish Chandra Yadav, remarked that Dr. Devendra Pradhan accomplished many historic achievements in Vajpayee’s government and devoted his life to public service.
Other ministers, including Baby Rani Maurya, Minister for Women Welfare, Child, and Nutrition Development, Uttar Pradesh, and Sanjay Singh Gangwar, Minister for Khadi and Village Industries and Sugar Mills, Uttar Pradesh Government, also paid tribute to Dr. Debendra Pradhan.
