Shivakumar hits back, accuses Kumaraswamy of vendetta politics

Bengaluru, Mar 20 (UNI) Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar on Thursday accused Union Minister H D Kumaraswamy of engaging in "vendetta politics", alleging that cases had been filed against him and his family by Kumaraswamy’s associates in the past.
Addressing a press conference, Shivakumar refuted allegations that the state government was indulging in political vendetta in the encroachment case involving Kumaraswamy. He asserted that government officials were merely executing court orders and clarified that the case concerning the alleged encroachment of 14 acres in Ramanagara district by Kumaraswamy’s family was based on a complaint filed by activist SR Hiremath, not the government.
The Deputy CM further alleged that Kumaraswamy exerted pressure on the Centre to obstruct the renaming of Ramanagara district. He reaffirmed the state government’s determination to proceed with both the renaming and the overall development of the district.
On the political front, Shivakumar announced plans to establish 100 Congress party offices across Karnataka. He revealed that he had met the party high command to finalise a foundation-laying ceremony for three of these offices, including one on Race Course Road in Bengaluru.
When questioned about reports of a 36-paise hike in electricity tariffs, Shivakumar said he was unaware of the development but would consult the State Energy Minister for further details.

"The Chief Minister has repeatedly stated that 4% reservation in government tenders will be given to Muslims. The question is, why only Muslims? Why has the Chief Minister, who came to power with the support of all communities, forgotten the Other Backward Classes (OBCs) and neglected the injustice faced by Hindus in Karnataka?"
