SP Medifort achieves prestigious JCI accreditation

Thiruvananthapuram, Apr 29 (UNI) SP Medifort Hospital marked its first anniversary with a major milestone, becoming the first hospital in Kerala to achieve the Joint Commission International (JCI) 8th edition accreditation, recognised globally as the gold standard in healthcare quality and patient safety.

The anniversary celebrations were inaugurated by A.N. Shamseer, Speaker of the Kerala Legislative Assembly.
The Speaker lauded SP Medifort for bringing international standards of cure and care to Kerala and emphasised the importance of promoting research and development in the healthcare sector to ensure sustainable advancements.

In a significant achievement, SP Medifort has also emerged as the first hospital in India to install the state-of-the-art 3D Cathlab — GE Allia — and the first in South Kerala to introduce Laser Angioplasty, further strengthening its position as a pioneer in advanced cardiac care.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. S.P. Asokan, Chairman and Managing Director, and Mr. S.P. Subramonian, Joint Chairman and Managing Director of SP Fort Healthcare, reiterated the hospital's commitment to bringing modern medical facilities to Thiruvananthapuram at affordable costs.
“SP Medifort was founded with the belief that quality healthcare should be accessible to all. We ensure that no patient is denied treatment due to affordability constraints,” they affirmed.

As part of the celebrations, architects, agencies, contractors, and bankers, including representatives from State Bank of India (SBI), were felicitated for their contributions to the realisation of SP Medifort’s vision.

Executive Directors of SP Medifort Health Care, Dr. S. Aathithya, Advaith A. Bala, and Dr. Athulya A. Bhagya also addressed the gathering, sharing insights into the hospital’s journey over the past year and its vision for the future.
